GRAND OPENING RAINED OUT! (AN OPEN LETTER) We are so sorry that the weather forced the cancellation of the Ultra Hog Heaven Grand Opening. A band of very heavy rain showers and thunderstorms was passing over UHH early on Saturday morning when we made this VERY difficult decision. We are truly sorry that this decision disappointed so many of you but, it was for the best. The skies did finally clear up and the rain eventually stopped but, the mud was something nobody would have cared to deal with. We had been looking forward to this since we set the dates over six months in advance. Thank you for understanding that the magnitude of this weather was something nobody expected and conditions at UHH are still less than desirable. This was probably the most rainfall we've experienced at one time in this area in over three years, way before we started developing most of Ultra Hog Heaven. If there is anything positive out of this, in addition to the area needing the rain, it has allowed us to see some areas where we can improve the quality, both of the site and our operation. A few campers did come out and we accommodated them in locations that were more dry than their original reserved spots. They seemed to enjoy themselves in spite of the weather and we thank them for their attitude and company. If you had reservations for accommodations and did not come out, we will reschedule your stay at no additional charge. We will also be contacting each of the vendors to see what agreement can be reached. We are not like other events where you have been burned (stiffed) in the past. We want to establish long term relationships that are mutually beneficial. As I have said before, we are NOT a once per year rally held in a cornfield somewhere by a promoter who takes the money and runs! In fact, we are not even calling our events "RALLIES" (or "parties") and I am NOT a promoter. That is not who we are or what we are about. I own the permanent venue called Ultra Hog Heaven, a motorcycle ride destination (MCRD) park and campground and we plan to be here for a long time. A contest will be announced, very soon, regarding what name to call our events. Be thinking about an appropriate name and submit your entry when the contest details are posted. We will determine what worthwhile prize will be awarded and announce it with the details. Most everyone has been very understanding and realizes that we do not have the ability to control the weather. However, some individuals have been critical and have not taken into account the amount of money and effort that we have already expended, (ads, rented equipment and facilities, support people, etc.) to get ready for these dates and that can never be recovered. Oh well, there are some people who are just negative, or feel entitled, and will never appreciate someone else's loss, no matter how great, so long as they are taken care of! We will probably NEVER be able to please them and really do not want that kind of attitude at our place. We prefer to have friends like those of you who have expressed your appreciation, consideration, gratitude, kindness, optimism and understanding. YOU ARE THE ONES WE WANT AS GUESTS AND WANT TO PLEASE! We are proud to call you "friends"! And we do appreciate those of you who understand and have offered encouragement. Thank you for your continued support. Most of you realize the hard effort that has been expended on our park, and we will continue to expend, to make Ultra Hog Heaven one of the nicest motorcycle destinations around!
